Stage 3 Canberra Excursion

Years 5 and 6 had an action-packed excursion to Canberra last week. The trip was part of their history studies focused on federation, the constitution and Government, as part of the unit ‘Australia as a Nation.’ The students visited Old Parliament House, where they got to join in the celebrations for the 95^th anniversary of the opening of the building. The students enjoyed specially made cupcakes to mark the occasions. 

Stage 3 also visited new Parliament House, where they were given a guided tour of the Great Hall, Senate, and House of Representatives. They then spent the afternoon testing their flexibility, agility and strength at the Australian Institute of Sport. It was great to see our students back out and about in the wider community and enjoying the rich history the nation’s capital has to offer. Well done Stage 3!
