We’re excited to share that Gundagai Public School has officially begun the transition from Compass to School Bytes as our new school management platform.
Earlier this year, Compass acquired School Bytes, and the NSW Department of Education now recommends School Bytes as the preferred system for primary schools across the state. Starting today, we’ll begin moving across key features to support a more streamlined experience for our families.
The School Bytes Parent App is now available for download on both iPhone and Android devices. Once set up, the app will allow you to:
• Receive school communication
• View student reports
• Make payments
• Track events and attendance
Important Payment Information:
The finance module in School Bytes will go live in Week 4. To ensure a smooth transition, all outstanding payments must be finalised in Compass by the end of Week 2. After this time, all payments will be processed via School Bytes.
What happens to your Compass information?
There’s no need to worry — all student reports, payment records, events, and parent contact details held in Compass will be securely transferred to School Bytes.
Step-by-step instructions have been uploaded to Facebook and emailed to help you set up your School Bytes parent portal and make the most of the new system.

SCHOOL CALENDAR NOW AVAILABLE IN SCHOOL BYTES
Families can now view our school calendar anytime through the School Bytes Parent Portal. This is the best way to stay up to date with upcoming events, excursions, assemblies, and important dates throughout the term.
Simply log in to your School Bytes account and select the Calendar tab to view all scheduled activities.

FINANCE IN SCHOOL BYTES WILL BEGIN ON TUESDAY WEEK 4 (12 AUGUST).
Please finalise any outstanding payments in Compass by Friday 1 August to allow a smooth transition to the new system.
Outstanding amounts not paid by this date will carry over to School Bytes.
Please note: No EFTPOS payments will be accepted at the office during Week 3.
