Year 5 and 6 stepped out of their comfort zones and learnt about a fast paced Paralympic sport, Goalball. The classes took part in action packed lessons with Isabella Nimmo, the program manager for Blind Sports NSW and Goalball NSW. Goalball is a sport exclusively for athletes with a vision impairment. The object is to roll the ball into the opponent’s goal while the opposing players try to block the ball with their bodies. Bells inside the ball help to orientate the players by indicating the direction of the oncoming ball. Isabella carried out a number of drills and skills activities before the students got to compete in games.
