PSSA Soccer

Soccer

On Wednesday, Gundagai’s Boys and Girls Soccer teams travelled to Cootamundra as part of the PSSA knockout competition. The girls played first and did well holding their positions and maintaining good possession of the ball. Grace had a few promising runs down the left side of the field while Kaylee worked hard in both attack and defence on the right wing. Layla was extremely strong in defence throughout the game, and Torri made some outstanding saves. The girl’s knowledge and team work improved throughout the game, and despite going down the girls had a great time.

The Boys started the game strong with plays down both wings. Ollie had a great play towards the goal and was tackled inside the box resulting in a penalty which he scored. Gundagai continued to put pressure on the Cootamundra defence. Chase and Darcy were extremely strong in defence, clearing balls from the line far up into the field. Hunter made some outstanding saves however Cootamundra where able to get ahead 4 – 2. Both teams should be extremely proud of how they represented the school and supported each other, particularly with many players never having played before.
