Last Thursday we welcomed Mr Michael McCormack, Federal Member for Riverina, to Gundagai Public School to celebrate our students’ involvement in the 15th Annual ANZAC Writing Competition.
Mr McCormack spoke about the importance of remembering the bravery and sacrifice of our ANZACs and shared how deeply moved he was by the heartfelt entries submitted by students across the region.
A huge congratulations to all of our participants, and a special mention to Lily-Rose Mooney, who was awarded a book prize and had her writing published in this year’s ANZAC Day commemorative booklet – an outstanding achievement!
Thank you, Mr McCormack, for recognising and celebratingthe voices of young Australians and for taking the time to visit our school today.
